PlugPlayer App Reviews

Good

It recognizes my twonky server without problems but video support is quite poor... Goog app anyway, but must be improved

Very bad

I want my money back. This is so buggy and nuisance. VLC on my iPhone is way better upnp player. Absolutely not worth $5. Kindly arrange to refund my money. Thanks

crashes immediately

Might be a good app - shows the music on my PC/DLNA server. But then it crashes, so it cant actually play music. Looking at the reviews, my guess is that the developer has left for another planet, so no fix likely soon. My suggestion - go elsewhere. .

Searching or browsing crashes app

I guess I have too much music for this app to handle -- consistently getting crashes while browsing. Wish Id read the reviews first.

Best app for controlling UPnP!

It does everything its supposed to do. I use it almost every day. Well worth the investment.

Multitasking is a must

This is a great app for streaming music from my MyBook World NAS. Multitasking would make this app even better.

Worked Perfectly

Connected my first generation iPod Touch to DLNA server running on my LG NAS box. No configuration necessary. Able to browse and play my 60GB library. Excellent

One of the Best!!

Im able to control a bunch of media servers on my network. I use Foobar2000 and it works great. Only con I have as of this review is that my media sever settings are not saved when connecting from the Internet. I stream my library over the 3G network and have to enter them in every time. Hopefully this will be fix in a new update because thats one of the main reason I purchased this app.

Doesnt work!

It will show my files but not play them.

Awesome app!

I almost dont even have music in my iPod app! I have a cisco NAS and it sees it and plays the songs very well. The one thing that would make this app awesome is if you were able to link to the same device more than one way. For example I set it up so I can access my device from outside my home network but I also want to connect directly when Im at home. But when I connect via wifi it replaces the device with the local routing. So I have to re-enter the path to the device when I leave the house. A way to name then so it saves the two routings to the same device would be awesome. Because then you just have to select the device depending on where you are.

Crazy

Until I get better instructions, this app is crazy. I used to have "simplify music 2" application. It was easy to work, this one does not make sense! Please come back "simplify music" Daniel

Unstable

As a long time JRMC user am deeply troubled that this app crashes on my 3gs all night long. Started out okay and then I start seeing crashes. Outside on the patio I search for a unique album, Desifinado, and get 8k search results??? trying to select genres, heck even single albums crashes this thing. It is Painful to be teased by this app.

Works with tomato!

I just reflashed my router with tomato, plugged in my USB drive with 250 tv shows Ive recorded and converted to mp4, and they work great! Ive tried other ways to stream recorded tv but this one is by far the best! No lag, very responsive, ff/rw work, skip slider works, too! Worth every penny!

Limited Functionality

So this will play my flac over the LAN, so thats what I purchased it for. Now in actuality, the functionality is very limited and theres no documentation as how to use it. I just want to repeat a song and make a playlist, and it will not do this. The GUI is weird not intuitive it all; unlike my, uh, iPod. Ah well, itll keep me streaming flac until something better comes along. Not worth five bucks, Id pay 2 at the most for its limited functionality and horrid GUI.

Very good but crashes

The App is very good, but there are some crashes. When i play an mp4 movie, it goes pretty well but after a while it skipps a second, a few moments later it skips 2 seconds and then the app crashes

It doesnt work as advertised

It sees my nas and my processor but it only plays one song. It doesnt make sense to have the iPhone in my palm constantly to select manually each piece of music. However it works when plugged in or when left unlocked (after all its a phone). It would be nice to have music non stop when phone is locked, and it would be nice if the app wouldnt crash as much. Could you please explain the settings for remote operation over 3G? good app overall.

Wow - This app rocks

After searching and searching...I have a Iomega NAS on network. I installed this app on a old 2G iphone and on my iphone. Attached the 2G Iphone to my stereo and now I can play all my music on the family stereo with my iphone by controlling the 2G iphone. So cool - Thanks!

Videos dont work at all

Server running DLNA Dlink NAS dns-323. My playstation 3 can play all the videos fine from that. My device is detected and I can browse the list. Audio .mp3 files work fine but not a single video file plays.

Needs more

Support for MythTV would be nice. I can see the recorded show list, but can neither play them nor control another renderer.

PlugPlayer 3.3.1

Installed, loaded it and it found both my PlayOn on my desktop and Twonky Media Server running on my Thecus N7700 media server. No configuration, just simple click and play! Release all your music on your DLNA and UPnP media server to your iPhone or iPad. Happy listening.
